Haitian Health Care Capacity Building & Haiti’s Heroes

The Abundance Foundation is improving health in Haiti by treating and preventing disease through medical education and health system strengthening. The Abundance Project for Global Health is an innovative partnership between the Abundance Foundation, Harvard Medical School, Partners In Health and Global Health Delivery Project to empower local health practitioners in Haiti.

Working with the on-the-ground expertise of Partners In Health, Abundance Project for Global Health improves health equity in Haiti by providing empirically-based delivery strategies. To highlight the central role of local health practitioners in solving the most challenging health crises, the Abundance Foundation co-produced a film called Haiti’s Heroes. The film chronicles the story of Dr. Dubique Kobel, the medical director of the Partners In Health clinic in the Parc Jean-Marie Vincent settlement of more than 50,000 earthquake survivors. Ciné Institute, Haiti’s only film school, co-produced the film for its premiere at the Clinton Global Initiative.
